Places to go and eat

In Central Ripon:

Child and dog friendly; lovely breakfast, lunch, we love the tea & cake…

Child friendly, lunch, definitely cake, we love the curries!

Beautiful up-market bistro food! Also child friendly for lunch; does a great Sunday lunch. We love the cocktails.

Wonderful cocktails, with light bites and bar snacks. We love the live music.

Child friendly, delicious italian pizza and pasta for eating in or out. We love the takeaway!

Recently refurbished classic Italian. Child friendly, supper and takeaway. We love the ice cream bar.

Delicious Spanish tapas. We love the eccentric owner & front of house!

Typical pub food, known for it’s Sunday lunch. James loves the beer!

A lovely setting for drinks by the river, and views of the cathedral. Good food. The boys love paddling in the river and Ali loves Kingfisher spotting.

Just a bit further out of town:

Wonderful to walk around this National Trust estate with two eateries; cake and light lunches by the lake (free) or main house (National Trust) – great for lunch and tea and cake. Child & Dog friendly.

An impressive renovation, at impressive investment. With many different restaurants for lunch and supper. The Michellin Star Shaun Rankin, Fletchers for Traditional fayre, 88 for pan-asian, Norton Terrace for outside dining and The Orchard for an inside / outside relaxed dining.

A choice of 2 restaurants – one is evening and smart (jackets and trousers), the other is more relaxed on a beautiful terrace.

A beautiful view of Yorkshire with a walk to the druid ruins. Wonderful for for lunch or afternoon tea; child & dog friendly.

A delightful family run pub with delicious food! Eat in the dining room, casually in the bar or outside in the garden. The Sunday Lunches are the best around and the Secret Steak is a must! Or the burger. Or the fish and chips!

A typical Yorkshire pub with really good food. Lovely garden.

We haven’t been but keep meaning to as rave reviews! Family & dog friendly

A very special place and renowned around town! If you love seafood, this is a must!

Family run, newly established, delightful food and atmosphere.

Pub Grub in a beautiful setting overlooking the river.
